As two traveling professionals Ed had to learn a whole new way of dealing with customers. At one point I was traveling in Europe, while my wife was in Asia and we were conference calling with Ed in Maine. Late night texts, and email became the norm combined with cell phone camera shots, and 3 day excursions to check on the house. Ed had a steep learning curve with both of us.
We knew what we wanted but Ed brought our expectations within our budget and produced a very nice house that was within a realistic budget. Most builders use the rock bottom price to get your business and then every change is an added expense. Ed understands that there will be changes during, but a realistic price is a better way to do business. Most contractors don’t want to use except their own guys but Ed was more than happy to use our people and was excited to be working with them. We were thrilled with the coordination that we received and both parties were happy too.
Our house required techniques, materials, and electronics that were cutting edge. Ed handled all these new products like a pro, even getting some training on installing them so it was done correctly, and it really shows. He went the extra mile, making sure it was done correctly from the beginning.

Sharon and I had the opportunity to work with Ed last winter. We engaged Ed to replace all the windows and a storm door in our house. Over several visits he worked up a quote, expected payment terms and the timing and stages of the work to be done. We gave him unlimited access to the house. He started the job when he said he would, kept to the timetable, updated us on progress regularly by e-mail and finished on time and on budget.
